Brendan Fraser attended the Los Angeles premiere for his new film, Rental Family, Wednesday night.
Set for theatrical release on Nov. 21, the movie follows an American actor (Fraser) “who struggles to find purpose,” according to a synopsis from Searchlight Pictures.
“He lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese ‘rental family’ agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers. Confronting the moral complexities of his work, he rediscovers purpose, belonging, and the quiet beauty of human connection.”
HIKARI — whose credits include Beef and Tokyo Vice — wrote and directed the film.
She attended the premiere, alongside cast members Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Gorman, Akira Emoto and Takehiro Hira.
Fraser’s friend Sarah Michelle Gellar also walked the red carpet to support the film.
