Focus Features released the first 2 1/2-minute trailer for its upcoming film adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility.
Set for a theatrical release Oct. 16, the early 19th century British drama will star Daisy Edgar-Jones, Esmé Creed-Miles, Caitríona Balfe, George MacKay and Fiona Shaw.
The story follows the loves and losses of the Dashwood sisters after they are forced to give up their comfortable home and move elsewhere when their father dies, leaving them practically penniless.
Blue Jean filmmaker Georgia Oakley helmed the film from a script by Diana Reid.
Sense and Sensibility was previously adapted as a 1995 big-screen drama, directed by Ang Lee.
Emma Thompson, who starred in it, won and Oscar for penning the script.
Kate Winslet, Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman co-starred.
