20th Century Studios announced Tuesday that The Devil Wears Prada 2 will stream on both Disney+ and Hulu. The film lands on the services Tuesday, July 29.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 opened May 1 in theaters. Picking up 20 years later, Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) loses her journalism job due to media layoffs.
She agrees to return to work for Runway Magazine to help rehabilitate it after a scandal. Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly acerbically resists her contributions.
Nigel (Stanley Tucci) remains Runway’s art director. Emily (Emily Blunt) is now a Dior executive.
Aline Brosh McKenna wrote the sequel as she adapted the original Lauren Weisberger book. David Frankel also returned to direct.
The film opened at No. 1 with $77 million. It has made $220 million in the U.S. and $690 million worldwide.
20th Century Studios is a Disney company since the 2019 merger between Disney and Fox. Disney is planning to merge Hulu with Disney+.
