Paramount+ announced Monday that EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert will stream on its streaming service. The film premieres Wednesday on Paramount+.
Baz Luhrmann directed the documentary from material he discovered while researching his 2022 Elvis biopic. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and opened in theaters in February.
Footage includes film of Presley’s Las Vegas residency and rehearsals, 16mm video of Presley on the road and 8mm home movies from Graceland.
UPI praised EPiC in its review for highlighting Presley’s sense of humor. Luhrmann spoke with UPI in an interview and said he let an audio interview with Presley guide the edited footage.
“We found such a unique treasure trove off material and worked with Peter Jackson and the amazing team at Park Road Post Production to elevate the footage to levels never seen before,” Luhrmann said in a statement.
“The aim was to reveal Elvis in his prime, as if you were actually there,” he continued.
