20th Century Studios released the final trailer for The Dog Stars on Tuesday. The film opens Aug. 28 in theaters, including IMAX venues.
The trailer shows the post-apocalyptic world Hig (Jacob Elordi) navigates. He joins a group of survivors who are initially skeptical of him.
By the end of the trailer, Hig is helping them fight off marauders hanging onto their prop plane. Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin, Guy Pearce and Allison Janney also star.
Qualley’s character is won over by Hig’s gift of coffee, and they discuss things they miss about society, like going to the grocery store.
Based on Peter Heller’s book, Mark L. Smith and Christopher Wilkinson are credited with the screenplay adaptation. A previous trailer was released in April.
