Jude Law portrays a young Vladimir Putin in The Wizard of the Kremlin.
An international trailer for the upcoming film, which had previously screened at film festivals in Venice, Toronto and London, dropped Monday.
The preview, released in French, showcases Law as Putin and Paul Dano as the fictional Vadim Baranov, who advises Putin.
“Russia, in the 1990s. The USSR is falling apart. In the turmoil of a country under construction, a young man with fear of intelligence, Vadim Baranov, carves his path,” an official synopsis reads. “First an artist, then a reality TV producer, he becomes the unofficial advisor to a former KGB agent promised to absolute power, the future ‘tsar’ Vladimir Putin.”
Alicia Vikander, Tom Sturridge, Will Keen and Jeffrey Wright also star.
