IMAX announced Monday that tickets are now on sale for the re-release of Speed Racer. The film returns to IMAX theaters April 20.
The Wachowskis re-imagined the animated series as a live-action movie in 2008. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has also announced a 4K UHD edition to rent or own on May 19.
The 4K version will screen in theaters.
The film starred Emile Hirsch as Speed, part of a racing family who turns down an offer to race for Royalton Industries. Speed deals with Racer X (Matthew Fox) on the track.
John Goodman and Susan Sarandon played Speed’s parents. Christina Ricci played his girlfriend, Trixie.
Additional theatrical screenings begin April 25.
