Sony Pictures is teasing the new film Klara and the Sun.
The studio shared a trailer for the movie Monday featuring Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega.
Klara and the Sun is a sci-fi comedy-drama based on the Kazuo Ishiguro novel and directed and co-written by Taikia Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Jojo Rabbit).
Ortega stars as Klara, a solar-powered robot “Artificial Friend” who longs to find the perfect home.
“When Klara meets Josie (Mia Tharia), each immediately senses a kindred spirit in the other. Josie has a fraught relationship with her mother (Amy Adams) and they’ve suffered great loss, but Klara’s innocent wonder and unwavering loyalty begin to heal the family and bring light to Josie’s complicated world,” an official synopsis reads.
The cast also includes Steve Buscemi and Natasha Lyonne.
Klara and the Sun opens in theaters Oct. 23.
Ortega will also star in Wednesday Season 3 on Netflix.
