Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez will lead the voice cast of the new film Not Alone.
Universal Pictures and Illumination confirmed the casting Monday with a poster featuring Chalamet and Gomez’s names. The actors previously co-starred in Woody Allen’s 2020 film, A Rainy Day in New York.
The Not Alone poster shows the silhouette of two people holding hands as they face a starry sky. Three friendly-looking alien creatures can be seen amid the letters of the film’s title.

Not Alone was announced at the Annecy Film Festival in France and will open in theaters April 16, 2027, Deadline reported.
Variety said Chalamet will play Joe, an “introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet life alone,” while Gomez has been cast as Fran, a “brilliant astro-botanist who is developing the world’s first-ever plant-fueled rocket.”
“When Joe and Fran are brought together to prepare for the inaugural launch of this revolutionary rocket, there are immediate sparks, but neither is particularly adept at romance,” an official synopsis reads. “Life becomes more complicated when three aliens — tiny, unruly and adorable — take refuge in Joe’s home.”
Eric Guillon (Despicable Me 3), Claire Dodgson (Minions) and Jonathan Del Val (Minions: The Rise of Gru, will co-direct the feature.
Chalamet will also star in Dune: Part Three, while Gomez will return for Only Murders in the Building Season 5.
