Apple TV is giving a glimpse of the new film Mayday.
The streaming service shared a trailer for the movie Tuesday featuring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and Kenneth Branagh (Much Ado About Nothing, Belfast).
Mayday is an action buddy comedy set during the height of the Cold War. Reynolds stars as Troy “Assassin” Kelly, a U.S. Navy pilot who is stranded behind enemy lines while on a top-secret mission into Russian territory.
“Discovered by Nikolai Ustinov (Branagh), a gruff ex-KGB agent with a penchant for American culture, Troy thinks he’s toast — but could an unlikely alliance between the two lead to Troy’s rescue and a bond neither saw coming?” an official synopsis reads.
Other cast members include Maria Bakalova, Marcin Dorociński and David Morse.
Mayday is co-written, directed and produced by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. The film premieres Sept. 4 on Apple TV.
