A24 is teasing the new film The Debut.
The studio shared a trailer for the movie Tuesday featuring Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti.
The Debut is a musical comedy-drama written and directed by actor and A Real Pain director Jesse Eisenberg.
Moore plays Mona, a shy and unappreciated wife and mother who is cast in a bit part in a community theater musical. The character is pushed to her personal and creative limits by the production’s demanding director (Giamatti).
Over the course of the film, Mona transforms into “a zealous method actor willing to do anything to protect the artistic integrity of her marginal role — even if it means waging war against the show’s domineering director,” an official synopsis reads.
Eisenberg, Halle Berry, Havana Rose Liu, Colton Ryan, Lilli Cooper, Maulik Pancholy and Bernadette Peters also star.
The Debut is “coming soon” to theaters.
