Tom Felton was met was roaring applause when he appeared as Draco Malfoy in the Broadway play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Tuesday.

The actor, 38, is reprising the role that made him famous through May 10.

“It feels really weird holding a wand again,” Felton said amid rehearsals. “In a good way…. There’s lots of things to learn. It’s old shoes but very much in a new world.”

“How did I get so lucky?” he continued.

An Instagram post on the show’s official page shows Felton on stage as the crowd cheers.

“He stayed in character so well, but Tom was definitely grinning on the inside,” one fan commented.

Felton portrayed Harry Potter’s rival in each of the eight Harry Potter movies, beginning with 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and culminating with the 2011 feature Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
